Paper Pregnant!

We've spent a few days in Phoenix with family  which was agonizing not knowing if our I-600 A was sitting in the mail box. Chris went home yesterday and it had arrived!!

As of today we are officially paper pregnant!!

We emailed it off to our adoption agency and they emailed back and we are #11 on the wait list.

#11

This number can fluctuate a bit depending on what family is best fit for the child/children. Things may quiet down a bit as we enter into a season of waiting. The only thing we are going to need to do between now and accepting a referral is to keep our home study, biometrics and I-600a current...none of which needs to be done in the next 18 months. We will keep updating as we move up the wait list but we would love prayer as we prepare to bring our child home!

We have also set up an adopt together account. Any money donated to here will go directly to our agency and adoption expenses. It is also tax deductible!

  1. Yay! Paper pregnant is a great feeling. A feeling most people don't get, a feeling you will surely be tired of by the time you bring home your little one. But none the less, a great feeling! Congratulations.

Biometrics Appointment Complete!

Another check on the checklist, another task marked off!! We submitted our I-600A less than 3 weeks ago. We were told to expect up to a 2 month wait for our biometrics (fingerprint) appointment. I prayed and prayed we would receive our appointment date by the end of this week. I came home Monday to 4 letters from USCIS with our appointment date set for noon on December 12. It was such a direct answer to prayer, exceeding our request for an already speedy process! Silly government people who assign random times during normal working hours. We both couldn't do it but we've heard from numerous other families that they will often take walk ins. So today, I left school early and we rushed over to the office...we got a little lost on the way, stupid iphone lead us to the completely wrong place! When we arrived we were told we had to speak with the immigration officer to see if he would allow us to walk in. Thankfully we saw the nicest immigration officer there is and he did...

We Got News

Nothing happens quickly in the adoption world, it's full of waiting and waiting. We were told we would hear after the 16th from our agency regarding their trip. But WE WERE EMAILED TODAY!! That was 4 days early. I made Chris read it out loud to me and I guarded my heart to hear the impact. I'm not ready to give up yet, I don't feel like God is closing this door....he read these words: "the trip was a positive one in many aspects as his meetings brought about much information" Information...that's not what I want to hear. My heart sank, positive in what way? Positive in that we got a lot of information, cleared things up, door are closing but at least we did things the right way? Please God NO!  Then he read: " One of the main ideas he experienced was seeing many officials and organizations desire REFORM , not CLOSURE of the guardianship/adoption process. "Our Agency" also feels that reform is necessary in order to move forward. From these...

Quick Update

Lots has changed since we last posted, here's a quick recap. After 6 months in Uganda, we brought home our precious daughter on September 16, 2016. Our sweetest friends met us at the airport to welcome us home! My two requests were that everyone give her some space, it had been a hard travel day and she was struggling. Moving to a new country with a new family is hard. My next request was that we sing the Doxology. I wanted it to be so clear, especially for our hearts, that this was all about God. His doing, His power, His sovereignty. We found out about a month after coming home that we were expecting. We hadn't tried for biological kids before adopting and we were ecstatic to be growing our family and giving Noeline a sibling. Then, on March 17, 2017 we officially adopted Noeline. She gained our last name and we became a forever family! On July 16, 2017 our sweet son Caleb joined our family! Noeline was convinced the whole time I was preg...
